Watford Grammar School for Boys
PROJECT BACKGROUND:
ATB Sports solutions were employed by the client to install a six lane cricket net system to replace an old system that had been removed during building extension works. The brief was to install a system that complied with ECB guidelines, was enclosed to stop cricket balls rolling onto near by rugby pitches and be large enough to hold a group session of nearly 30 children. Due to close proximity to local residents the system also had to meet certain aesthetical criteria, which involved black powder coating on the metal work and batting curtains were included to protect the nets.
In order to construct the base ATB had to remove existing long jump run up features, perform a minor cut and fill and remedial landscaping works.
KEY WORKS:
- Design and Build of 6 lane cricket net system complying with ECB guidelines
- Minor cut and fill with remedial landscaping works
- System included pre-cast concrete pin line kerbing to improve the longevity of the installation
