PROJECT BACKGROUND
This project was at the Stewkley Parish Council recreation ground. We were tasked with installing durable tarmac pathways throughout a local recreation ground to join the carpark to each area of the recreation ground. The aim was to enhance accessibility for the residents to continue to use the recreation ground in the wetter months and for individuals with mobility needs, whilst blending in with the natural landscape. The installation process involved careful planning to minimise disruption to the park’s activities and ensure long lasting, low maintenance paths.
We used concrete pin line curves on either side of the pathway because it enhances both the durability and aesthetics of the pathway. These curves provide a clean, defined edge that helps to prevent the tarmac from spreading or cracking over time, and therefore extending the lifespan of the pathway. Additionally, the concrete edging improves the structural integrity, helping to contain the surface material and reduce erosion or damage from from wear and environmental factors. From an aesthetic perspective, the pin line curves create a neat and professional finish, and they also simplify future maintenance, making it easier to keep the pathways and surrounding areas well-defined and tidy.
A T Bone were also asked to install durable metal fencing and an emergency access gate to enhance security. The fencing was strategically placed to create a secure boundary around the park while maintaining an open, welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Designed for long term resilience, the metal fencing offers protection against wear, and weather conditions. Additionally, we installed an emergency access gate to allow quick and easy entry for emergency services.
