Penn Road Cemetery
Project background:
ATB constructed a brand new cemetery on a Ha site near High Wycombe Hempstead for Buckinghamshire Borough Council. It was a design and build project that involved the erection of a maintenance building, a large tarmac carpark, and an array of curved footpaths.
Due to the environmentally sensitive site (AONB) and archaeological considerations, the project was conducted in line with a full archaeological survey throughout. Regular adjustments were made to ensure the earthworks could be continued and implemented successfully in accordance with the cultural sensitivity of the space.
Key Works:
- List Earthworks including topsoil strip , cut and fill contouring and grading.
- Land drainage to accommodate Civils works and water management systems.
- Construction of cemetery maintenance building and storage yard
- 17000 sq m of flowering lawn, 4400sq grass area, 5773 of tarmac roadways, 2240m curbing, 694 sq m gravel, 1170sq m paving
