PROJECT BACKGROUND
A T Bone & Sons have repurposed an old poultry unit into a state of the art commercial facility, combining innovation with sustainability to bring new life to the existing structure. The team undertook this comprehensive project, starting with the demolition of the existing poultry building and its substructure. The work included minor natural cut and fill adjustments, laying new foundations, and installing both internal concrete flooring and external concrete access areas. A custom designed drainage system was implemented to manage stormwater, alongside the installation of foul and water connections for future proofing the unit. The building was clad with 40mm composite roofing and siding, creating an insulated commercial structure spanning 4,800 square feet. Additionally, remedial work was carried out to align the building with the existing yard levels, and the original asbestos was safely removed. We used the client’s planning drawings and transferred them with our inhouse CAD design so that we could produce fabrication drawings for our fabrication team to construct the steel framework. This renovation has repurposed the poultry unit into a modern, efficient space that meets today’s high standards for commercial use while preserving the character and integrity of the original building. We have created a versatile commercial space that supports the growth and success of future tenants.
