Envar West London

A regular client of ours; Envar Composting instructed ATB to undertake the following works:

Full strip out of a glass recycling building and old workshop, the total square footage across the two buildings of 8000sqft – this included overhead cranes, old swill tanks, loading hoppers, gantry’s, racking and internal walls etc. This also included the dismantling and disposal of the external overhead water tanks.

Further to the main building the client instructed ATB to demolish a small derelict office building and reclaim the space to install a new 18m x 8m steel framed commercial unit finished with insulated cladding, insulated doors and polished concrete floors.

Key Works:

  • Full strip of asbestos roof and side cladding – again disposed of through clients waste business
  • Full pressure wash of existing structure inside and out.
  • Installation of insulated 40mm composite roof and side cladding on the existing concrete frame
  • Repairs to damaged brickwork, and the removal of an entire back wall of one of the units as deemed to be unsafe – this was replaced with new steel columns, cladding rails and insulated tin panels to match the roof.
  • Free standing lean to was constructed with steel frame to stand next to existing concrete frame – the roof then over sailed from the old building to the new building to create a further 2 units.
  • Installation of insulated roller shutter doors, steel security pedestrian doors and push bar fire exit doors to each unit.
  • Complete overhaul of electrics – including new mains feed split into the 4 units with separate consumer units, meters and power sockets ready to let.
  • Concrete floors were broken out, regulated, and re-laid with polished concrete finish.
  • All works to old concrete buildings and steel frame lean too created 4 commercial letting units totalling over 9600sqft
  • New foul drainage was installed across the site to upgrade their current multiple septic tanks into a single large klargester accommodating connections from existing offices and welfare and also the 5 new commercial units.
  • New stormwater drainage for all units and electrical ducting to new mains distribution board were also installed for all buildings.
  • Foul and mains water were installed in each commercial unit ready for future connection.
  • Concrete aprons and yard drainage around all units were replaced and made good where required to tie in with new levels.
  • Whilst onsite the client also instructed ATB to remove a section of tress and vegetation and then dig out and install hardcore surface, topped with plainings to increase their usable yard space by nearly 3000m2
  • Final stages of work included the installation of a new 6.9m galvanised electric sliding gate

All materials were recycled through the client’s waste management business.
