Class 1 HGV Driver – Walking Floor

ATB is an established agriculturally based family business which has diversified into a number of different revenue streams throughout the years. We run a small fleet of artic units with a variety of trailers which are interchanged according to the work load and requirements. Our trailers consist of grain bulk tippers, gravel half pipe, walking floors, low loaders and step frame flat beds. Much of the work that the haulage department take on is agriculturally based, moving grain, straw, plant, machinery, compost & woodchip to and from our farms.

The role is for a permanent walking floor operator/driver, delivering compost & woodchip to our sites & end users.

Pushing up the compost heaps & loading yourself will be necessary, training for this will be given.
You will require to have regular contact with site personnel and provide exceptional customer service, whilst ensuring that all lorry loads arrive at the delivery site safely.

The Role/Requirements:

• Able to swap loaded trailers.
• Plan and complete journeys to the optimum time advantage according to taco rules and regulations.
• Carry out daily vehicle and load checks.
• Complete relevant paperwork to ensure paper trail is kept up to standard.
• Happy to do up to 4 nights out per week when necessary.
• Hold a full clean LGV (class 1) licence.
• Have a valid Driver Qualification card (CPC).
• To own a valid Digital Tachograph card.
• Must have a minimum of 12 months driving experience.
• Be physically active due to the nature of the role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism.
• Fork lift / Telehandler / Loading Shovel – or willing to be trained.
• Walking Floor experience

Due to the nature of this role, employees are expected to be co-operative in working outside their normal hours as necessary to cope with varying situations and workloads.
